I think the main reason it is needed is so that politically we can have a voice. By that i mean that we could actually elect a party to govern us which WE choose. At the moment we are governed by the Conservatives who have no mandate whatsoever to govern the Scottish people as in reality they are a non-entity in Scottish politics.

For the record i actually DO like Alec Salmond and think he is one of the best orators i have ever seen in my life.

Outside of London and the very wealthy Southwest of England, Scotland is the best performing economic region of the UK. As has been reported recently Scotland alone could be the 6th richest nation in the world mainly because of our oil reserves and gas in the north sea. The fact is that these reserves are in Scottish waters and would rightfully be ours alone. :)

I'm not disillusioned to think that it would be plain sailing ad factors like us not being given a AAA rating by banks initially etc would hurt but in the long term i think we as a people could easily pull through. The biggest stumbling block that i can see is the Euro and currency which we would need because no doubt England would throw their toys out the pram and say we couldn't use it............. but of course, even now, you cant spend a scottish note south of the border and thats when we ARE in the UK lol

I must be at the opposite of you FF because whenever i fill a form in etc i put Scottish as my nationality whenever possible. When someone asks which country i come from i say Scotland, and proudly too. When i think of where i am from and what nationality my friends and family are, i say they are Scottish. Outside of the UK i think if you tell someone you are british they immediately think you are English and vice versa, that irks me :/

I dont see where we could "lose out", but i do think that the NO vote will win the referendum just because people are always afraid of change, especially on such a huge level. Apathy rules in most walks of life.

Lastly, as this is a long post now i'll give you a last reason. Here is a statement from a week or so ago :

Scottish Secretary Michael Moore said there was "much to welcome" in the
Scottish government consultation, but warned: "Any attempt to pass legislation
for either an independence or 'devo-max' referendum would be outside the
existing powers of the Scottish Parliament and liable to legal challenge.

This says it all IMHO. Even if WE THE PEOPLE of Scotland want independance, the <s>English</s> UK government would say its illegal and we cant leave. They would use loopholes and law to keep us as part of a union we don't want to be part of.

Doesn't that just sum things up ? Thats the sort of thinking which makes me want.... OUR FREEEEEEEDOM lol but you know what i mean :p

Thought I'd put this in as a blog and then post all my contributions as an update of my fundraising progress. This will get congested as we buy a load of kindle books and a lot of products have been purchased for us to take to Kazakhstan with us. I hope this encourages more to use this scheme and if you are at a loose end on who to support then please get involved with Boxer Welfare. Happy contributing all

This is a site that pretty much does what the title says. It makes fundraising easy! I've posted a few links on facebook over recent times and thought I'd add it here also.

If you online shop regularly (and I have done a load in the last 6 months) and you don't have links to airmiles or other bonus purchase sites then I'd recommend you link up to this one.

I've put the charity link I use below but you can get to the site and choose one of your own that's closer to your heart.

Basically, you go to http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ before internet shopping and then go to the site you wanted to go to (not all are covered) and if you purchase anything, your donation element is recognised and added to a running total on your account. Well worth it, even if it's just pennies, as they all count. Missus downloads stacks of books for Kindle and we make sure we go through the site every time - all the 2p, 5p add up after a while. Some things you can earn big rewards.

Anyway, enough said, check it out and if you're stuck for a charity to choose, then I recommend Boxer Welfare Scotland. Check them out also and see what they do - just as well there are some good people in our world!!

I don't mind where we play, I think Smart is pretty clear for me to understand lol, though I play at Sky Poker most days as there is such a variety of games and prices.
$20 a bit steep for me to use up in one go for I, being a crap player will only fill the good guys coffers, and $20 would take away the fun part.
If it goes that steep I shall have to pull out, which I would miss cos I am pretty constant even if I'm crap.
The league shud be every week, as before but what I wonder is out of all our members why was it always the same 14 playing. It is the others that should be answering these questions really. WHY JOIN IF YOU DON'T INTEND PLAYING????
Maybe we could play other games beside the League. A $3 Holdem rebuy say on a Monday, then a $2 or $3 Omaha on a Wednesday, with the League $7 on Thursday and a $3 + $1 for a Bounty Hunter at the weekend.
I know that adds up to $17 but at least that way we'll have a bit more poker and hopefully a few more people and there is nothing to stop us having a an incentive that if you play league or one other tourny through that week that you get free entry once a month into a separate $5 straight NL Holdem Game with a prize for the top table, maybe a wooden spoon of a $1 for the Bubble.
Seligor. Happy New Year Everyone. xxx:winner:

Sunday night was the return of the much-awaited Confidential Poker Tournament, held at the lovely Manchester235 Poker Lounge.

Knowing we had a lot of interest in the tourney, I arrived 30 minutes before registration opened to meet and greet. I was surprised at the amount of eager players who were ready and waiting.

Once registered, all players were greeted with a complimentary drink and had a chance to eye up their ever-increasing competition. New Poker Lounge manager Doug Leonard then did a run through of blind structures and how the double chance freeze-out tournament was going to work.

Day 1
Monday 21st Feb

Sat down at the table with my $4 and after an hour n a half of good play and never being less than $4 i left with $11.

Later in the day i decided to play some more to make daily $10 target and decided to try multitabling. So i played 3 tables which started off ok until i busted out of one with AK on a K27 rainbow board only for opponent to turn K7 blank turn and river.Boom down to 2 tables and only $3 in profit for the day.
Wasnt long til i bust a 2nd table and losing every hand i was in getting beat by draws hitting the river and low kickers pairing to kill me so i decided with just over my $4 to quit for the day!
Best hand of the session K high straight
bankroll $35.76

Day 2
Tuesday 22nd Feb

Decided to give it a miss tonight as i had the league game on blackbelt and after the beat on there I Wasnt feeling it So this is one of my 2 days off :D

Day 3
Wednesday 23rd Feb

2 tabling today Sat down with My $4 at each table played some great poker and after 2 hours of play I left table 1 with $17.24 and table 2 with $15.02. More than made up for the bad start so hoping to keep this going the rest of the week and maybe get a wee extra day off for MTT's on stars or something :D
Best hand of the session full house Aces over Kings

Bankroll $60.02

Day 4
Thursday 24th Feb

Getting a bit confused... i signed in the other day and thought there was $2 missing from my account but left it cause i wasnt sure..... i signed in today to find my bankroll was $62.02, did they take $2 and give it back?? Is it just rakeback orsomething? hmmmm

Anyway just about to take to the tables so will be back with results!

Silly Silly Silly!!!! discovered roullette on PKR and thought wee quick game n boost the banroll, before i knew it was down $25.... bankroll now $35.72! :(

Only played one table this afternoon sat with my $4 and just could not lose! My hand held up every time and had the biggest donks at the table buying in with the minimum every time. After an hour the table emptied and filled up again so i took that as my cue to leave and get ready for football at 6pm. Left the table with $13.54
Best hand of the session was quad threes closely followed by quad twos

Bankroll $45.26

Day 5
Friday 25th Feb

No play today due to other commitments

Day 6
Saturday 26th Feb

No play again today

Day 7
Sunday 27th Feb
Not looking likely for target this week with missing so much game time but i'll give it a go.
Also contemplating moving this challenge to blacklbelt as opposed to PKR cause im now going against my 2 play sites only rule and would much rather be earning the points on blackbelt. So after tonights session i may transfer the funds!

Well after 2 hours i only finished $5 up so of target for tht week by $36 not a great start to the challenge but recoverable so tonight the $50 shall be merged with my blackbelt bankroll ($48.40) and with 9 weeks left and $36 to recover as well as my $50 a week its all to do.

Best hand of the session quad 3s A high on the board

With a week of pissing away bankroll on roullette and missing too much game time its been a learn and move on experience so lets hope next week can bring better form and see the cash climb!!

Target bankroll $586
Bankroll $98.50

Roll on next week

Ok so i was sitting on wednesday night and remembered i had a couple of quid in my PKR account so decided to check it. Turns out i had $6 and thought "I'll play a wee $0.02/$0.04 cash table". So after an hour or 2 i left the table $10 in profit. Then on Thursday night i sat down again with the table max $4 and once again left an hour or so later $10 in profit and done the same friday. So now sitting at $36 I thought to myself $10 a day could build my bankroll quite well. Now this is when i came up with my "10 week plan."

MY 10 WEEK PLAN

Over the course of the next 10 weeks i will be aiming to make $10 a day for 5 days a week playing $0.02/$0.04 table and hit at least $500 at the end of it. sounds easy doesnt it?? It will take discipline and determination not to stray stakes or sneak in the odd MTT or SnG once the cash raises a bit but im sure i can refrain (or hope i can) lol.

I'll update at least once a week to let you all follow my journey.

My mind was never really on it tonight to be honest. Car problems on way home has left me worried it could be terminal. Roll on tomorrow till I find out the extent of the damage to car. Then I can get back to poker tomorrow night. With my starting balance of $116 I'll sit down with table max of $30 at the usual 6seater 0.15-0.30 tables.

Will update blog tomorrow if I end up playing. :D

Decided I'm going to update my blog daily with my cah advertures on 888. I started a couple of week ago with $20 deposit, played a couple of Mtt's lost, played the 5 days of freerolls I was entered to for depositing, got my balance back up to $17, then sat down at the cash tables. was at a high of $190.12 but after a disasterous night going by my standards recently on 888 I'm down to $114 so I'll be back tomorrow play my usual tight-ish game 3 and 4 betting which I had done less of tonight, and I'll try and build it back up. So i'll post and update tomorrow on how my night has went.
